The Huffington Post reported that former adult film star Amber Rayne, 31, died over the weekend. She collapsed at her California home on either Saturday or Sunday and never recovered. Rayne was born Meghan Wren in Detroit on September 19, 1984.
She spent 10 years in the adult entertainment business and had appeared in more than 500 films. She had also won the AVN award for Unsung Starlet of the Year in 2009. The AVN award is the porn’s version of an Oscar.
Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter told the Daily News that Rayne’s death was reported as a possible accidental overdose. Toxicology results will become available at a later date. Rayne had retired from the porn industry last year to work on a horse farm she owned. She trained horses and taught riding classes.
She made her final film appearance in “Wanted.” Last December, she made headlines after accusing adult movie star James Deen of punching her in the face and raping her. She is one of several women who have accused him of sexual abuse. He has denied all allegations and claims the press has distorted the story.
