"Vampire" Pablo Lucio Vasquez executed in Texas for killing 12 year-old boy

USA Today has reported that “wannabe vampires” should know that Texas has no problem with executing killers. On Wednesday, Texas executed killer Pablo Lucio “The Vampire Killer” Vasquez, 38, for killing a 12-year-old boy named David Cardenas on April 18, 1998. Vasquez said he was doing drugs and drinking with his cousin, Andres Rafael Chapa. Cardenas was spending the weekend with Chapa.

After Vasquez, Chapa, and Cardenas left the party, Vasquez said voices told him to kill Cardenas, and then drink his blood. He struck the boy with a pipe several times, slit his throat, and then drank the boy’s blood. Chapa took part by striking his friend in the head with a shovel. Vasquez said he tried to sever the boy’s head but couldn’t physically do so. The cousins buried Cardenas’ body in Donna, Texas. According to CBS News, authorities found the dead boy’s body after receiving a tip.
