Have
you ever wanted to own an alleged haunted house? If so, Caroline D’Antonio has the perfect house for
you. In 2010, Caroline and David D’Antonio bought the 5,000-square-foot home
for $950,000. Since David died last year, Caroline is downsizing her living
space.
On Friday, she
placed the house on the market. The well-known house has been a horror icon
since the late Jay Anson released his book “The Amityville Horror” in September
1977. A movie followed two years later that starred actress Margot Kidder and
actor James Brolin as Kathy and George Lutz—the unlucky couple who moved into 112 Ocean Avenue, Amityville, New York in 1975.
The
house number was changed to 108 Ocean Avenue for privacy reasons. The Lutz
family claimed that strange supernatural events forced them from the home in
1976. Years later, people are still debating on whether or not the Lutz’s
fabricated the entire story.
