An arrest warrant released today for a Northern Texas man named Michael Thedford, 33, publicized disturbing details about the death of Fern Thedford, his 6-month-old daughter. On Tuesday, the unemployed schoolteacher had driven his 5-year-old and 3-year-old children to day care.
Stan Thedford, the children’s grandfather,
said Fern didn’t go to day care on because of a high fever. After leaving the day
care, Thedford drove home for a nap. He woke up several hours later and
realized he had left his daughter in the family van.
