Most of us can remember where we were on September 11, 2001. It was a day of chaos, tragedy, and triumph. The American spirit was attacked. All eyes were on us. What would we do? Would we unite or fold? Much has happened since. We have our first African-American president and have also expended millions of tax dollars and American soldiers in pursuit of Osama Bin Laden.
Not only has this elusive man learned how to avoid capture, he was also intelligent enough to plot the worst terrorist act on American soil from outside the country. Bin Laden killed innocent Americans and caused the American economy to go into a tailspin.
The aftermath caused major airlines to lose revenue because people stopped flying on airplanes. And it wouldn’t be much longer until over inflated property values would take a turn for the worst. Americans began losing their jobs and their homes. The ripple of September 11, 2001 has taken hold of America like an earthquake. Although it has been nine years, we still feel the effects.
What Americans need to do is stay united, support our leaders, keep our faith in God, and keep America strong. I wanted to take a moment to remember those who died on September 11, 2001.
