ShamWow!

Say it isn't so Vince! Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few years, you know Vince Schlomi as the ShamWow guy. He's one of the most known product hawking gurus on television. The Smoking Gun recently broke the story about his arrest for assaulting a prostitute. 

He is the guy who tells the camera guy to follow him while he picks up some spilled soda with a ShamWow cloth. It can pick up any spill and even wipe off your arms, nose and the family dog.

I don't know what else to say because it sells itself.

Vince claims the ShamWow originates from Germany so it must be a great product. I didn't know German products were so great until Vince said so. 

I don’t own a ShamWow, but people on the commercial swear by it.

The whole sordid story behind Vince's arrest began at a Miami nightclub. After picking up a prostitute, she bit his tongue after he tried to kiss her. After she refused to let go of Schlomi's tongue, a fight ensued and both parties were arrested.

Apparently, in addition to picking up spills, the ShamWow also picks up prostitutes.

After reading about this story, I was more shocked to learn that Vince has to pay for companionship. Don't the ladies know who he is? 

I mean, he's the ShamWow guy. Doesn’t that impress?

Vince has let me down. It's disappointing to see wannabe celebrities get arrested. Don't they know they are role models or do they even care? Forget athletes, I want my kids to look up to a real guy who can convince millions to buy a ShamWow, Hercules Hook, or some special putty that you can put on your plumbing.

What next? Billy Mays getting busted for selling crack cocaine? 

Chuck Norris getting caught selling steroids? 

It will be interesting to see if Vince gets yanked from the ShamWow commercials. I hope not because he will probably bring extra publicity to the ShamWow and sell even more. 

Only in America can a celebrity or wannabe celebrity get arrested and continue to remain popular. For example, is Robert Downey or Martha Stewart any less popular for serving prison time?
